Page 692, Fig. 6. Closure of ATP-sensitive K+-channels (KATP) is promoted through Epac2-SUR1 interaction and Epac2-Rap-dependent stimulation of PLC-ε, the latter known to increase channel ATP sensitivity through the hydrolysis of PIP2.
Page 693, left column, line 5. In addition, the hydrolysis of PIP2 through Epac2 is expected to increase ATP-sensitive K+-channels responsiveness to ATP and subsequently to promote their closure (Holz et al., 2006), leading to insulin secretion.
