Adrenomedullin Deficiency Potentiates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Experimental Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia in Neonatal Mice
2021, American Journal of PathologyAnalysis of RAMP3 gene polymorphism with body composition and bone density in young and elderly women
2019, Gene: XCitation Excerpt :The results of the present study seem to support this finding. We speculate that RAMPs act to mediate the basal effects of normal GPCR signaling, and that under physiological conditions or disease RAMP3 may become induced to alter the signaling of GPCRs (Kvaloy et al., 2013; Hewitt et al., 2005; Gibbons et al., 2007; Ono et al., 2000). Contrary to our hypothesis that variation in the RAMP3 gene could be associated with bone density, because of the interdependence with body weight and fat mass, bone density did not differ between genotypes at any age.
Adrenomedullin: A potential therapeutic target for retinochoroidal disease
2016, Progress in Retinal and Eye ResearchCitation Excerpt :Endothelial cell lines overexpressing RAMP3 showed neither enhanced angiogenesis nor improved vascular stability (Ichikawa-Shindo et al., 2008). In particular, in an endotoxemia model, RAMP2 and CLR are downregulated but RAMP3 is markedly upregulated (Ono et al., 2000). RAMP3 may also have sex-dependent roles.
Bench-to-bedside pharmacology of adrenomedullin
2015, European Journal of PharmacologyCitation Excerpt :Meanwhile, scientific evidence for the role of CGRP or the calcitonin receptor-like receptor/RAMP1 signaling system in angiogenesis is very limited in comparison with that of AM or calcitonin receptor-like receptor/RAMP2. Both the AM peptide and receptor molecules are expressed in the central nervous system (Kitamura et al., 2002; McLatchie et al., 1998; Ono et al., 2000). Because AM was found to have biological actions that are seemingly protective or beneficial for ischemic brain injury, a number of experiments have been performed to clarify the role of AM in this disease setting.
