Discovery of anticancer drugs from antimalarial natural products: A MEDLINE literature review
2012, Drug Discovery TodayCitation Excerpt :We have not attempted a systematic search for natural products currently being tested in clinical trials, although, as shown above, our species-based search returned several such studies. We performed an informal exploratory search for clinical trials testing the antimalarial compound chloroquine and obtained six citations indexed in MEDLINE [67–72]. We also searched the US National Institutes of Health website (http://www.clinicaltrials.gov: accessed January 5, 2012) and found six currently active cancer clinical trials testing chloroquine.
