Purity and stability of the membrane-limited glucocorticoid receptor agonist dexamethasone-BSA
2019, SteroidsCitation Excerpt :However, given the relative ease of purification of the Dex-BSA by denaturing and dialysis, future studies with the compound would benefit from the removal of the free Dex contaminant to avoid a potential confound, especially if there is variability in the stocks of the Dex-BSA obtained commercially. Estradiol- and testosterone-BSA conjugates have also been shown to contain free steroid, which is released more readily under denaturing conditions [11]. Dialysis of the native sex steroid conjugates was ineffective in removing free steroid contamination, but dialysis of the denatured conjugates was not attempted in that study.
Photophysical study of the interaction between ZnO nanoparticles and globular protein bovine serum albumin in solution and in a layer-by-layer self-assembled film
2018, Journal of Physics and Chemistry of SolidsCitation Excerpt :Trp exhibits strong fluorescence compared with tyrosine (Tyr). BSA can interact with a variety of materials such as fatty acids, steroids, and inorganic ions, including Fe, Ni, and Zn etc. [20–22]. Since the advent of nanotechnology, the interactions and assembly of nanomaterials such as semiconductor NPs, e.g., ZnO, have attracted much interest [23].
