2012, Brain ResearchCitation Excerpt :Taking into account that the deficiency of AOGEN synthesis is particularly evident in the hypothalamus of TGR(ASrAOGEN) (Schinke et al., 1999), it is likely that the formation of Ang II or Ang-(1–7) is also diminished in the PVN of this rat lineage. Assuming this possibility, the angiotensinergic excitatory drive over PVN neurons (Ambuhl et al., 1992; Cato and Toney, 2005; Zhang et al., 2002b) would also be reduced. At least for Ang II, a previous report showing that the AT1 receptor binding is significantly higher in the PVN of TGR(ASrAOGEN) corroborates this hypothesis (Monti et al., 2001).
