Cocaine use disorder: A look at metabotropic glutamate receptors and glutamate transporters
2021, Pharmacology and TherapeuticsCitation Excerpt :Several alternatively spliced variants of mGluR1 have been reported. They differ primarily in the length of their C-terminal domain as well as anatomical localization (Hampson et al., 1994; Naito et al., 2018). Blockade of mGluR1 by a selective antagonist JNJ16259685 suppresses relapse to cocaine-seeking after extinction in monkeys (Achat-Mendes, Platt, & Spealman, 2012) and in rats (after infusion into the dorsal part of the HIP or NAc) (Xie et al., 2012; Xie, Ramirez, Lasseter, & Fuchs, 2010).
Group I metabotropic glutamate receptors control proliferation, survival and differentiation of cultured neural progenitor cells isolated from the subventricular zone of adult mice
2008, NeuropharmacologyCitation Excerpt :The anatomical distribution of mGlu1a and mGlu1b receptors is remarkably different. For example, the mGlu1a receptor is expressed in the cerebellum diencephalon, mesencephalon, and olfactory bulb, whereas the mGlu1b receptor is found in the cerebral cortex, septum, and striatum (Hampson et al., 1994). RT-PCR analysis showed the transcripts of mGlu1a and mGlu1b receptors in adult SVZ neurospheres.
