Clinical relevance of chronic neuropathic pain phenotypes in mice: A comprehensive behavioral analysis
2021, Behavioural Brain ResearchCitation Excerpt :Anhedonia is one of the key symptoms of major depression [40,41]. Since CCI mice showed anhedonia in the sugar preference test, it is likely that the absence of anxiety might be a symptom comorbid with some stages of depression [42]. Additionally, our study indicated that nerve-injured mice showed significantly excessive rearing behavior without changes in their total locomotor activities.

2011, NeuroscienceCitation Excerpt :These findings are in agreement with the previously reported anxious profile of male FSL rats in the social interaction test (Overstreet, 2002; Janowsky et al., 2004; Lavi-Avnon et al., 2005). Differences between the present EPM results and those reported previously (Schiller et al., 1991; Overstreet et al., 1995) may be explained by methodological differences. In fact, male FSL rats adopt passive coping strategies when challenged in behavioural tests (Overstreet, 2002; Overstreet et al., 2005) and the sequential behavioural testing along with the repeated injections in this study, possibly provoked the anxiety-like behavioural response of male FSL rats.
