Dose-effect relationship parameters of the seven drugs used singly against HIV-1 IIIB replication in MT4 cells The original data of Chou and Zhu (1997) were analyzed by CalcuSyn (Chou and Hayball, 1997). The dose-effect relationship parameters for potency, shape (sigmoidicity), and conformity are represented by Dm, m, and r, respectively, where Dm (EC50) is the x-intercept (antilog), m is the slope of the median-effect plot that signifies the shape of the dose-effect curve (m = 1, > 1, and < 1 indicate hyperbolic, sigmoidal, and negative sigmoidal curve, respectively), and r is the linear correlation coefficient of the median-effect plot (Chou, 1976, 1991). The ranges of values given are the mean of two separate experiments; each experiment consists of seven concentrations for each drug.
