Summary
Eledoisin, physalaemin, and 29 synthetic polypeptides related to eledoisin and physalaemin were screened for their hypotensive effect in man.
Experiments demonstrated that it was possible to modify the eledoisin and physalaemin molecules without any strong reduction of activity.
Influence of structural variations on hypotensive effect is discussed.
