The effect of estradiol on catechol-O-methyltransferase activity in rat liver

Abstract

Estradiol treatment reduces liver COMT activity in normal but not in hypophysectomized rats. Removal of ovary, thyroid or adrenal partially overcame the effect of estradiol in decreasing liver COMT.
