2018, PeptidesCitation Excerpt :Therefore, we isolated and cultured the porcine Leydig cells [47,52,53], and measured the viability and purity of the Leydig cells by trypan blue staining and 3β-HSD cytochemical staining [47,54], respectively. Then, we used different concentrations (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100 and 1000 nM) of GRP to stimulate the Leydig cells [55,56]. We found that GRP significantly stimulated testosterone secretion, promoted GRPR mRNA synthesis, increased GRPR protein secretion, and these effects were at their peak at 0.1 nM GRP.
