Spinal dopaminergic D<inf>1</inf> and D<inf>5</inf> receptors contribute to reserpine-induced fibromyalgia-like pain in rats
2023, Brain ResearchCitation Excerpt :These data suggest that D1 and D5 receptors are responsible of reserpine-induced nociceptive hypersensitivity. There is evidence that turnover of D1-like receptors is 34 h in the striatum, 22 h in the nucleus accumbens, 24.5 h in the tuberculum olfactorium, and 42.6 h in the claustrum (Fuxe et al., 1987). There is no data for the spinal cord.
Claustral Neurons Projecting to Frontal Cortex Mediate Contextual Association of Reward
2020, Current BiologyCitation Excerpt :Thus, in contrast to the striatum where a balance exists between neurons expressing the Gs-coupled D1 dopamine receptor and neurons expressing the Gi-coupled D2 dopamine receptor [46], the claustrum is biased toward excitatory D1R activity. The claustral dopamine receptor composition we observe is supported by qualitative published observations [25, 29–34]. Exposing mice to cocaine, we observed robustly induced, and broadly correlated expression of the IEGs Egr2 and Fos within claustral neurons.
