(2005) found that rats which had received i.h. injections of Ang IV were no different from vehicle controls, while Ang II produced a dose-dependent amnesic effect on the passive avoidance task. In contrast to these findings, two studies from the same group (Braszko et al., 1988; Braszko et al., 2006) found that i.c.v. administration of either Ang IV or Ang II in rats significantly improved recall relative to controls, increasing re-entry latencies on the passive avoidance task. The increase was approximately seven-fold in the first study.
